SKC's new Stepper Motors are driven
by customer needs.
Los Angeles, CA – June 30th, 2006 – Shinano Kenshi Corporation has released three new stepper motors, each designed as a result of market needs. SKC has the flexibility and engineering muscle to create motors to fulfill these needs whether they relate to torque, vibration, noise, heat or energy efficiency.
Each of these new motors is the realization of a clear vision. "We have a company that can respond quickly and effectively," says Rex Bergsma, president of Shinano Kenshi Corporation, "We listen to what the market says and we respond with new products that meet the expectations. The market says 'we need a motor that can deliver lower noise without compromising the torque power'. And we build that.
The SST43D. Lower the noise.
Increase the torque.
SKC's SST43D stepper motor is a NEMA 17 that provides 30% more torque than its predecessor with 3-6 db lower audible noise for a motor with equal torque. Frequency noise is also lower.
As a cost saving move, SKC built the smaller NEMA 17 to deliver comparable power of a bigger, NEMA 23. SKC customers needed a motor that operated with less power consumption and gave off less heat. This motor delivers that as well as smoother motion control at lower speeds.
The SST43D is available in D1 and D2 heights and comes standard with an integrated connector. Like all SKC products currently manufactured, it is RoHs compliant.
The proprietary design of both the rotor and the motor stator teeth allows for an incredibly high motor efficiency. The reception and testing at the customer level have yielded very positive feedback.
The SST45D.
Made for the ease of managment
In some cases, torque is not the key requirement. In many markets like the medical, gaming, and entertainment lighting industries, the key desire is low vibration and high motion quality. The new SST45D is a NEMA 17 sized stepper motor optimized to meet these requirements. In addition it has excellent damping characteristics.
At slower speeds where stepper motors typically do not run smoothly, this motor can offer low vibration, readily apparent at 70 - 300 pulses per second.
The new SST45 series also has high output torque at operating speeds less than 1,000 PPS and the equivalent power of many larger motors (NEMA size 23). Lower inertial load and lower costs are attractive bi-products of this design.
The motor is available in different body lengths and comes standard with an integrated connector (JST). It is also RoHS compliant, and can perform well in high ambient conditions-even 100ºC.
The motor has been totally redesigned-new stator design, new rotor configuration, new slot insulators geared toward high temperature operation environment, and a new PCB.
The SST59D offers the best of both worlds.
Sometimes torque is an issue even with low noise requirements. The brand new SST59D is a NEMA 23 size with an optimized design geared toward the medical, gaming, and entertainment lighting industries.
The torque vs. frequency ratio is much better than the previous models and also impressively better than the competition.
This motor comes in four heights - from 42.5mm up to 77.5mm. It also comes standard with an integrated connector (JST). This allows greater design flexibility as well as helping to reduce service and maintenance costs.
This motor's design is being used to launch a complete family of high-powered, low noise, low frequency products for various markets.
Our only Business.
SKC has gained incredible inroads in other industries by developing innovative, cost-saving products for their customers. This is why SKC is a leading motor manufacturer in the automotive market and the medical field, as well as a giant in the office and computer peripheral fields.
"Motors are our only business," Bergsma explains. Shinano Kenshi Corporation specializes in: electronic motors, stepper motors, servo motors, DC brushless motors, and customized motor assemblies. "Because our focus is only on motors, we can offer more motor related and custom assemblies products than any other motor manufacturer in the world. In fact, nearly one third of revenues are derived from our custom motor assembly solutions."
With state-of-the-art production facilities in Japan and China and with operations in North America and Europe, we compete on a global basis. "We have developed a reputation as an aggressive, dynamic, hard working company dedicated to customer service. Delivering on our promises over and over again."
Better Solutions.
SKC's ability to offer customized engineering and production even under the most difficult challenges has earned the company the reputation as a true innovator in the motion control field.
Prestigious awards from Fortune 500 companies speak to SKC's
engineering prowess and manufacturing quality standards.
