Los Angeles, CA – January 23rd, 2006 – At a time when industrial manufacturers are struggling with overseas competition, limiting arrangements with contract manufacturers, and rising costs, Shinano Kenshi, one of the world's leading electronic motor producers, is providing a new range of solutions that are getting attention from major corporations.

Shinano is promoting something far more beneficial and valuable than basic contract manufacturing.  "Let's face it, for even the largest companies, contract manufacturing isn't working the way they hoped."  Shinano Kenshi's system level solutions allow customers to utilize the company's vast resources in design, tooling, manufacturing, assembly and test.  "We are not a 'catch' and assemble partner, but rather a true collaborator from product concept to project end of life."  The company believes this front-end and back-end relationship creates a greater atmosphere of trust and accountability.an atmosphere even the biggest assembly houses cannot create because they can't offer the same services.

One major advantage of Shinano's assembly approach is that a customer maintains all the same points-of-contact, relying on the same people and organizations they have been using successfully for years while doing business with Shinano Kenshi.  "There are no new parties to introduce, no new facilities to visit, factories to source audit or relationships to build," says Bergsma.  "We become our customers' window to the Far East.and it remains our responsibility to manage the Asian arm of the business so our customers don't have to."

At the present time Shinano Kenshi is dealing with specific projects for major companies - from Fortune 100's to well-funded start-ups.  "It has been very encouraging so far," Bergsma says.  "Many customers are catching on to this concept and have seen the value in it - both technically and commercially." Unfortunately, many companies which are not being served better don't even realize there is an alternative to contract manufacturing.  "That is something we are working hard to change." Currently, Shinano derives greater than 30% of its revenues from value added products.
